Portraits in Oil by Margot Holaday

I have a BFA from the University of Oklahoma, and taught art in an  elementary school. Later I earned a MA in psychololgy and was a school  psychologist for many years. I went back to school for my doctorate and  became a professor of psychology at  the University of Southern Mississippi.  I retired early, moved to Ajijic, Mexico and became a member and Vice  President of the Ajijic Society for the Arts. We had monthly shows outside  in various locations in the village (the plaza, a hotel garden. the pier, or  the antique train station). In 2001, we were challenged to paint a self  portrait for a special show and since that time, I have completed 39 portraits and am working on the 40th. I am equally fascinated with people's faces as well as their personalities! It is a delight and a privilege to portray each one.
