Artist Bio


Donna Hahn Branson grew up in Oak Park, Illinois and has lived in Michigan, Arizona, Rhode Island and Oklahoma. She recently reignited her childhood passion for painting after retiring from a 28-year career in apparel design at Oklahoma State University. She is a widely acclaimed apparel researcher whose academic career includes teaching, research and administration as well as numerous awards and distinctions including the prestigious 2006 Homeland Security Award for innovative, cutting-edge protective apparel design research.   She enjoys painting landscapes, and still life and figurative works, and has taken pastel workshops with Doug Dawson, Clive Tyler, Becky Way and Mitsuno Reedy. She also works in oils and has taken workshops with Jerry Fresia, Mike Wimmer and Kathryn Walker Richardson. She has won numerous awards for her landscape, figurative and still life works.  She is a member of the Oklahoma Pastel Society and the Oklahoma Art Guild, and a board member of the Stillwater Art Guild.  Donna lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma with her husband, Mike.
