“I became interested in photography about six years ago because I wanted to learn the names of our native
wild flowers.”

I am a Native Oklahoman, and I graduated from Oklahoma State University.  I’ve been married to my husband Chuck for 39 years.  We have five children and ten grandchildren.  We are both retired teachers.  I taught second grade for twenty-six years, and he was an instructor for the postal training center in Norman and is retired from the Air Force.

We both volunteer for Cleveland County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for abused children.  We also volunteer at the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History in Norman as docents in Natural Wonders and working behind the scenes in paleobotany.

I became interested in photography about six years ago because I wanted to learn the names of our native wild flowers.  The only way to accomplish that was to take a picture and pour through a stack of books.  I found out that I really enjoyed taking photographs and enjoyed the challenge of learning how to take better ones.  Besides wild flowers and other Oklahoma scenic views, I’m drawn to the sea..

I’m still learning.  Right now I’m trying my hand at photographing various architecture...very interesting but very challenging.   Viewing other artists’ photography and paintings is a pleasurable way for me to spend an afternoon and is an invaluable teaching tool.
