“I choose subjects that feel right. Mostly, I just paint for the fun of it... always have.”

I do commission work that I call special place portraits, such as the painting I did several years ago for two professors at Oklahoma State University. They supplied me a photograph of their former home in the Seychelles islands and commissioned me to do a painting that they could hang in their new home in Stillwater, OK. I use photos as a reference such as a certain truck, car, home, or family business. For me it is like putting puzzle pieces together.

I was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in Longbeach California. I attended Longbeach City College and received a degree in commercial art from the University of Central Oklahoma. I was an illustrator in the U.S. Marine Corps. I also have worked as a graphic designer/ illustrator for several manufacturing companies, ad agencies and printers doing freelance as well as contract artwork. I have shown work in Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico and California.
